Ministers Fellowship

"How then, shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they be sent?” As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

The Minister’s Fellowship of Fifth Street Baptist Church seeks to support the Pastor as God uses him to move the congregation to spiritual maturity.  The Fellowship also assists the Pastor in identifying the needs of the congregation and the Highland Park Community and to identify and use the gifts that God has given us to further the vision for our church, community, city, state and the world.

The Fellowship is an integral part of every facet of Fifth Street Baptist Church and as such, provides a sense of “presence” to our congregation and the Highland Park community.  We accomplish this by:

  1.  Supporting the church through the giving of time, talent and resources;
  2. Working with Pastor Gray and the official boards to provide ministry to the Highland Park Community;
  3. Developing Ministry Teams to better assist the visitation of our sick and shut-in members;
  4. Attending worship services, prayer and praise services and bible study on a regular basis;
  5. Assisting with Wednesday Bible Study.
  6. Serving as Worship Leaders for the 8:00  a.m. amd 11:00 a.m. worship services;
  7. Assisting in the Invitation to Christian Discipleship:
  8. Providing the preached word, as assigned;
  9. Participating in communion and baptism as assigned;
  10. Participating in communion and baptism as assigned;
  11. Providing sick visitation to church members;
  12. Collaborating with the Personal Touch ministry to provide comfort to church family members during periods of bereavement;
  13. Serving as Worship Leaders and program participants for funeral services;
  14. Participating in weddings as assigned; and
  15. Supporting all ministries and activities of the church.
